AtDealPointBot
If you saw AtDealPointBot/1.0 in your server logs, it was us. This page explains what it does.
What it reads
Only public pages where banks, wallets and brands list their own card offers and discounts — for example a bank's “discounts” page. It never logs in, never fills in forms, and never reads social media groups or any site whose terms forbid it.
How often
Bank offer pages about once a day; brands' online-store catalogues every 6 hours. One request at a time, with a pause of several seconds between requests to the same site.
What happens to what it reads
Bank card offers and online-store sale prices are shown as they appear on the bank's or brand's own page, clearly labelled with where they came from and a link back to it; our team hides anything that looks wrong. Deals at local shops and restaurants go through our checks before shoppers see them.
Asking it to stop
AtDealPointBot obeys robots.txt. To keep it out of your whole site, add:
User-agent: AtDealPointBot Disallow: /
Or email averagedeal.check@gmail.com and we'll stop within one working day. Banks and brands that would rather send us a feed of their offers are very welcome to get in touch too.
