Bank card discounts in Pakistan: how they work and how to save more
Updated 10 October 2026
Most Pakistani banks and wallets run discounts with restaurants, cafés and shops: pay with their card and get a percentage off the bill. Used well, they're some of the easiest savings around. Used carelessly, they disappoint at the counter. Here's how they work.
How a card offer works
The bank agrees a deal with a merchant: for example, a percentage off the bill on certain days when you pay with an eligible card. Part of the discount is usually paid by the bank and part by the merchant. The terms are set per offer, so two offers at the same restaurant from two banks can be quite different.
The terms that matter
Before you rely on an offer, check these five things in the bank's terms:
- Eligible cards: some offers are only for credit cards, or only for certain tiers (Gold, Platinum, Signature). Debit card offers are often separate.
- Days and times: many offers run on specific weekdays or exclude public holidays and special events.
- Cap: a maximum discount per transaction, per card or per month. A 30% offer capped at Rs 2,000 is only 30% on a bill up to about Rs 6,700.
- Dine-in, takeaway or delivery: many restaurant offers are dine-in only.
- Branches: an offer may cover only participating branches or cities.
Tips to get the discount without trouble
Tell the staff before ordering that you'll pay with the card for the offer, and show the card. Ask whether tax and service charges are calculated before or after the discount. Keep the receipt and check your statement; if the discount isn't applied, the bank's helpline can usually trace it.
If you carry cards from two banks, compare both offers at the same place: the one with the higher percentage isn't always better once the cap applies.
Find offers for the cards you actually have
Card offers change often. On AtDealPoint, card offers come from the banks' own offer pages and are rechecked regularly. Add your cards in My cards and you'll see the offers you can use first. Browse by city, for example card offers in Lahore or Karachi.
Frequently asked questions
Do debit cards get restaurant discounts in Pakistan?
Yes, many banks run debit card offers, but they are often fewer or smaller than credit card offers. Check the offer's terms for which cards are eligible.
Why didn't my card discount apply?
Common reasons are the wrong card tier, the wrong day, a delivery order on a dine-in offer, a branch that isn't participating, or a cap that was already reached. Tell the staff before ordering and keep the receipt.
Is the discount taken before or after tax?
It depends on the merchant and the bank's terms. Ask at the counter before you order.
